There’s a story behind this place.
I grew up on a Midwestern farm believing that my ordinary life wasn't particularly interesting. I was happy and content, but I didn't feel anything set me or my life apart from others.
It has taken me decades to realize the opposite.
Conversations around the kitchen table or on the back porch; family recipes written on worn index cards; children racing through the house or playing in the yard; lessons learned through working, teaching, parenting, and growing older—all of these ordinary moments quietly became the stories that shaped me. I suspect my stories might resonate with you and maybe even inspire you to revisit your own "ordinary" life.
